Family
Barbara graduated in Law and qualified as a solicitor in 1989. She practised in Bournemouth and Hampshire, becoming a partner with a Gosport firm. She took a career break to raise her family and then lectured in Family law on the CILEX ( Chartered Institute of Legal Executives) course, teaching the Professional Diploma. Barbara worked outside the Law for some years, assisting with Capital financing for Church of England school buildings. She was keen to provide help to those who couldn’t access the law, so volunteered at the Royal Courts of Justice Advice Bureau on Family Law matters. This ignited a desire to return to practice and Barbara joined Churchers at the end of March 2022, based at the Portsmouth office. She aims to help clients through what can be a difficult and stressful period in their lives, by a constructive and non- confrontational approach which looks at the needs of the whole family.
