Matthew undertook his training in commercial firms in London and qualified as a solicitor in 1987, joining Churchers in 1994.

Matthew has a wide range of experience in civil litigation and dispute resolution. His background is in commercial litigation with an emphasis on property litigation. He has built niche practices in property and boundary disputes, claims against professionals, contractual disputes and commercial debt recovery claims.  Matthew has successfully taken many complicated disputes to trial, both in the High Court and County Courts.

In addition to his commercial litigation experience, he has considerable expertise in most other areas of civil disputes including personal injury claims, fatal accident claims, contested probates and inheritance claims, professional negligence claims, landlord and tenant disputes, contract claims and personal and corporate insolvency.

His work is supervised by other partners within the firm.
