Alex has worked exclusively as a criminal defence lawyer for over 34 years, she has been a part of Churchers since 2006.

She deals exclusively with more serious cases which are heard in the Crown Court, these range from drug supply, serious sexual offences, fraud and the most serious of offences; murder.

Alex often deals with vulnerable and mentally disordered defendants. She also works closely with barristers including Kings Counsel, and highly qualified expert witnesses of all disciplines.

Alex is held in high regard the bar and local judiciary, who have known and worked with her for many years!

Additionally her experience means she is able to advise with regard to appeals against conviction and or sentences, be that to the Crown Court or The Court of Appeal.

Recently Alex has represented a client charged with a high profile murder where the prosecution sought e re-trial following a previous acquittal, known as double jeopardy, a highly unusual application. The application to the Court of Appeal was described by the President of the Court of Appeal as “unprecedented” due to its exceptional circumstances. He was subsequently acquitted of murder following a trial.

Alex also advises and assists bereaved families through the difficult inquest process.
